Many people are knowledgeable about one subject. Some people are incredibly knowledgeable, but no one, I repeat no one, knows more about one thing than Alton Brown knows about food. Just watch Iron Chef or Good Eats (sidenote: Can we redo the Good Eats intro? It looks like an 80's tween-sitcom) and you'll see him talk about any aspect of food and cooking with supreme authority. He may not know about hairstyles (Alton, you're balding, let it go) or fashion (Nice shirt, who shot the couch?) but the man knows food. I know he has to read up ahead of time and he uses a prompter on Iron Chef but still you can help but be amazed by how intricately he knows about things in the culinary world. What's Menudo (besides my favorite musical group)? Alton knows.
