See some REAL music on Frenchman Street, as opposed to the cover bands on Bourbon Street (right near by). Get a hurricane at Pat O'Brien's. You MUST MUST MUST get beignets at Cafe Du Monde. Oh and don't forget a hand grenade on Bourbon Street
the beignets at Cafe Du Monde are excellent, but their coffee is so gross!
wander around the french quarter there are some pretty cool voodoo shops.
some cab drivers will take you on a tour of the hardest hit areas from Katrina for like $30
