Dancing With The Stars?

There has been a significant change in the TV show Dancing With The Stars from when it began until this current season, a paradigm shift if you will. It has long been debated if they actually know the definition of the word 'stars,' and while this is true (Steve Wozniak . . . who? Exactly), they have come close at times (Steve Gutenberg.) However, they are still mainly missing the mark. The problem they are encountering now is their 'stars' are less stars than the professional dancers are!

Julianne Hough, one of the dancers, had a hit country album, was feature in Maxim magazine's hottest celebrities, dated Entourage star Kevin Connolly and probably adorns the walls of many middle-school lockers along with the walls of creepy old men who go on "Spring Break". Contrast that with one of the "stars" this season, Ty Murray. The guy from Extreme Makeover? No. Ty Murray the rodeo (athlete?) Seriously . . . a professional rodeo athlete? Pop quiz: What does better in ratings: Rodeo competitions or Bowling? The answer . . . I have no idea . . . BUT the point is, I shouldn't have any idea, because researching that fact would never come in handy (except for right now, and truthfully, I am just lazy.)

It is probably time to change the name of the show. "Dancing with the Stars" just isn't accurate any more (if it ever was to begin with.) Feel free to post new ideas for titles and I will forward them over to ABC (I won't).

I totally agree... I haven't really watched past seasons, but decided to watch the season premiere on Monday. I had heard of like two of the "stars". How about "Dancing with Large, Awkward Men You've Never Heard Of"...
