This may be the least important blog post ever - perhaps even the least important thing ever posted on the internet - but I have a new favorite apple. Yup. Feel free to stop reading now but I warn you, if you think you are happy snacking on a Red Delicious or Gala apple, you're about to have your mind blown! (Probably not, but you may like this apple.)
I had always fashioned myself a Honeycrisp person. That apple seemed to embody everything I loved about apples. Kind of sweet and not mushy. I was very comfortable with that as my apple choice until I went to the store the other day and they were out. I randomly tried a new apple I never had before and I'm hooked. Pink Lady Apples. BOOOM!!! I love these things and though I have tried approximately eight of the over 7,000 different kinds of apples, I can safely predict this is the best kind ever.

Oh man! Honeycrisp are my favorite! I'm going to have to try these Pink Ladies.
After apple picking at Tehrune Orchards I found my favorite apple. They are called Macoun. My husband and I tried a different orchard that didn't have them so we tried some apples there. I didn't like any so we actually left empty handed only to drive 40 minutes to get Macoun ones at Tehrune's. I totally feel you on the apples. The only supermarket I found that sells Macoun's is Shop Rite. Enjoy your Pink lady's!
I love both the honey crisp and the pink lady apples!! The great thing is that they usually come during different seasons, if you can't find honey crisps there will be pink lady's and vise versa. If you like both of those apples as much as I do... I would suggest that you also try Jazz apples =) I honestly can't decide which of them is my favorite!!
i really wish i could enjoy this blog, newman, but alas. today i cannot because i am allergic to apples (seriously).
