Newman's Book Club Recommendation

A little over a year ago, I started Newman's Book Club here on my blog. It is basically a series of posts where you can comment with book recommendations. Needless to say, it has been a huge success (zero members).

Over the last week, I have had a lot of time to read. My wife is resting as she recovers from ankle surgery, and being the amazing husband I am, I gave her full control of the TV remote. Horrible move. My wife has awful taste in television. Some shows we watch together, but for every Lost and Parks and Recreation there is a Doctor Quinn Medicine Woman and Judge Joe Brown. So, as my wife enjoyed shows on channels I didn't even know we received (The Gospel Music Channel?? I had no idea we got that -most likely because I am not an 84 year-old female. This is the channel Doctor Quinn and Joan of Arcadia are on) I read some books.

Some were good, some were bad, but what I want to recommend is a book that isn't even out yet. While, researching some titles to read, this one book kept popping up on websites as THE BOOK. After, checking out one of my favorite sites/podcasts Books On The Nightstand and hearing them gush about it, I figured I would pass along the info.

The book is called The Passage by Justin Cronin, and it comes out June 8th. I can't remember a book that has received this much hype in a long, long time. Everybody has said it is the book you have to read this summer. If you want to find out more about it, like, everything about it because I don't feel like trying to describe the plot of a novel I haven't read, click here

I have read the reviews and they compared The Passage to The Stand by Stephen King which is one of my favorite books of all time. I will definitely read this book. Thanks also for the link to the website Books on the Night Stand.
