Do Emmy Nominations Mean You Are Smart?

The Emmy nominations came out yesterday - you can check them out here.

When the shows you watch are nominated do you feel like you are better than other TV watchers? I can't explain this but this year in particular a lot of shows I watch - Mad Men, 30 Rock, Parks and Rec, Louis, Game of Thrones - are nominated and I feel like I am justified. Like I am some sort of advanced television viewer.

"Oh you watch Wipe Out? Oh that's fine, I enjoy the Emmy nominated series Game of Thrones." (Side note - Wipe Out may very well be nominated for something and I also happen to watch it.)

Can anyone else relate to this?
